Tilt testing:

The tilt testing tool is a mobile and portable machine specifically designed to perform stability tests using the tilt method. As part of the recommended testing routine by Mosca, this tilt testing tool serves as the initial fundamental indicator to quickly assess the deformation of the palletized load as a quality control measure.

The results of this test can be used immediately to determine whether the load needs to be optimized to remain stable during transportation. In addition to this test, the load should undergo additional transportation simulation tests to ensure safe handling and transportation.

By utilizing the innVision PRO image processing software, Mosca is able to propose significant changes in packaging design and ensure efficient reproducibility while minimizing associated costs.

Horizontal stability testing equipment

Acceleration and deceleration testing

The horizontal stability testing machine is a cutting-edge solution that simulates horizontal acceleration and deceleration according to key international standards such as EUMOS 40509 and load safety requirements by FMCSA in the United States. Additionally, this equipment enables the execution of customized tests such as inputs on roundabouts or curves, thanks to the innSlide ST software developed by the engineering team at Safe Load Testing Technologies.

This real-time simulation demonstrates how a predefined rate of horizontal acceleration/deceleration affects the stability of the loads. Moreover, it is equipped with the innVisionPro simulation software, which generates a comprehensive report with detailed results, photographs, and videos. An integrated high-speed camera records all load deformations at each stage of the testing sequence. This allows for a detailed analysis to optimize the packaging design and load configuration to withstand the forces of transportation.

Impact force testing

The inclined impact machine is used to evaluate the protective capacity of transport packaging when subjected to impact forces during the distribution cycle. This impact test allows us to optimize the packaging design to ensure the safety of the load during transportation. The inclined impact equipment utilizes the force of gravity to assess the design of the transport unit in terms of its resistance to impact forces. A speed of up to 2.5 m/s can be achieved, according to the testing protocol.

This test is conducted following international protocols such as ISO, ASTM International, and various procedures from ISTA (International Safe Transit Association).

Vertical vibration testing

The vibration system is designed to simulate vertical vibrations following standard protocols and has the capability to generate random vibration profiles. Mosca also offers the possibility to use innData, the data logger from Safe Load Testing Technologies. It is capable of accurately recording and replicating real-world conditions encountered during the distribution cycle in the vertical vibration system. This provides companies with an invaluable opportunity to mitigate costs associated with product damage and suboptimal packaging or package design.
